Within your DHQ, you may have sites which are secure, and unavailable to certain user groups. These sites may offer an option to request access, allowing the site admin to manage who can access the site. This article shows you how to enable/disable access request functionality for a site.
To configure access requests, browse to your desired site.
1.Go to Site Actions > Site Settings then Advanced Permissions in the Users and Permissions column.

2. Click Settings then Access requests.

3. Check Allow requests for access to allow users to request access to this web site. Enter the email address in the text box below where the requests for access should be sent to.

4. Make sure that the owner of the email address has Full Control permission (normally an Owner) for the web site.
5. Click ok.
Now when a user browses to the site they can request access.
